Heart Galleries of Texas runs 11 regional galleries statewide. Region 11 serves the Rio Grande Valley, and we host their permanent gallery at our downtown Harlingen training center.

Through our Poenisch Counseling Center, we partner with Heart Galleries of Texas to provide therapy services to families throughout the Rio Grande Valley. This support is available to all families who’ve welcomed children into their homes, not just those connected to Sunny Glen. Because healing doesn’t end when a judge signs papers. Sometimes, that’s when the hardest work begins.
Heart Galleries of Texas connects families to mental health support, respite care, family bonding activities, and caregiver support groups. They guide parents through accessing basic assistance, emergency resources, and skill-building training. These aren’t extras—they’re essentials for families learning to respond to complex emotions, attachment challenges, and the realities of parenting kids who’ve experienced trauma.
