Purchasing cooperatives allow us to leverage the collective buying power of hundreds of organizations across the country. By joining a cooperative, we gain access to contracts that have already been competitively bid and publicly awarded — meaning the rigorous procurement process has been completed on our behalf.
This approach saves significant time and resources, reduces administrative burden, and ensures we still meet legal and ethical purchasing standards. Vendors on cooperative contracts have been vetted, pricing has been negotiated at scale, and contracts are structured to ensure compliance. Rather than conducting a lengthy individual bid process for every purchase, cooperative purchasing allows us to act efficiently while remaining responsible stewards of our organization's resources.
